A Gulf State Private Equity Firm Sponsors a $200,000 Art Prize

Bloomberg has the story of three artists who will be awarded $200,000 to realize an art project that will become part of the Abraaj Capital corporate collection:

“There was a sense of awarding a prize for a notion and allowing them to realize this with the money,” said Savita Apte, the chair of the Abraaj prize, in an interview. [ . . . ] “I think that this will definitely propel them onto the international stage; whether it propels them in a major way is up to the artists themselves,” said Apte.
