A Hungarian news portal, Caboodle.hu, summarizes an article from the Hungarian press Világgazdaság (that’s subscriber only) where dealer János Haas is battling art deflation:
Haas mentioned painter Zoltán Klie (1897-1992), whose works often appear in his gallery and at Hungarian auctions. In 2007-08, Klie’s paintings fetched an average of Ft 300,000-400,000 (€1,100-1,500), while today, they are bought for 20-30% less.
