Broad’s Consumption

It’s no secret that Eli Broad is an active and voracious art buyer. Even with that knowledge, the raw numbers are still impressive. Here’s LA Times‘s Mike Boehm with the details:

He said his collection, which he continues to build by buying 25 to 100 pieces a year [...] But to the disappointment of museum leaders and many art lovers, Broad decided not to donate his collection to LACMA as well. Instead, 1,500 works have remained under his foundation’s umbrella, and more than 400 others are in the separate personal collection he owns with his wife, Edythe.
