Highlights of Christie’s London Old Masters Evening Sale

Lot 4: Willem Claesz. Heda still life makes £1.385m ($2.2m) against ¢500k high est. That’s a record for the artist.

Lot 5: Frans Hals Head of a Boy sells for £914k ($1.475m) significantly above the ¢750k high est.

Lot 8: Pieter Breughel John the Baptist Preaching almost gets to high est. of £1.5m

Lot 11: Lucas Cranach Lucretia attracts £457k, well above the high est.

Lot 16: Fra Bartolommeo Madonna and Child sells for £2.17m ($3.5m) just at the low est. but still a record for the artist.

Lot 17: Guiliano Bugiardini Portrait of a Young Gentleman is estimated at £250k but sells for £825k (did they buy it as Bugiardini or a Raphael?)

Lot 22: Call this a low-light–Giovanni Galli Ecce Homo est’d at £100k and up sells for £18,750.

Lot 24: First of the Anthony van Dycks, Portrait of a Military Commander, makes the middle of the estimate range at £133k

Lot 30: Tómas Hiepes still life sells mid-est. range. at £481k

Lot 44: Sir Antony van Dyck Portrait of Lady Oliver St. John sells for low est. at £881k

Lot 57: Jean-Etienne Liotard A Lady in Turkish Costume makes £657k

Lot 63: Tiepolo, Angelica and Medoro makes £646k just above the low est.

Lot 64: Luca Carlevaris Piazza of St. Marks goes up to £505k well above the £150k high est.

Lot 66: Marieschi Courtyard of the Doge’s Palace closes out the sale at £2.169m
